Commercial thinking for businesses that are starting, growing or ready for a boost.
Whether you are exploring a business idea, preparing to launch or already trading, the commercial decisions you make early on can have a lasting impact on your ability to grow.
Many business owners invest in branding, websites, stock or marketing before they have fully clarified who they are selling to, what they are offering and how they will reach their market. This can lead to unnecessary investment, missed opportunities and challenges that become harder to fix later.

Strategic Advisory for Small Businesses
I help small business owners step back, look at the bigger picture and make more confident commercial decisions before investing further time, money or energy.
Commercial Review
Sometimes you do not need a long-term consultant. You simply need an experienced, independent perspective on your business.
A Commercial Review provides a structured look at your business, idea or current challenge, identifying where the opportunity lies, what may be holding the business back and where you should focus next.
The review can be particularly valuable if you are:
-
-Exploring whether a business idea is commercially viable
-
-Preparing to launch a new business
-
-Unsure who your ideal customer really is or how to reach them
-
-Investing in branding, marketing, stock or digital platforms and want to make sure the foundations are right
-
-Experiencing slow or stagnant growth
-
-Facing increased competition or changing market conditions
-
-Unsure where to focus your limited time and resources
-
Making an important business decision and need an experienced sounding board
Because sometimes the most valuable thing a business owner needs is someone who will look at the business objectively.
From big business thinking to practical small business solutions
I bring more than 20 years of experience across commercial strategy, category management, shopper marketing, retail and route-to-market planning within major FMCG brands.
I have worked with global brands and national retailers, led strategy for billion-rand categories and worked both at boardroom level and on the ground.
I have also built and operated small businesses myself and, through my work with a UK-based small business support company, have seen first-hand the realities faced by owners who are often responsible for everything from strategy and marketing to operations and finance.
My approach is to take proven commercial thinking from larger businesses and make it practical, relevant and accessible for smaller businesses, without the complexity, jargon or cost of traditional consulting.

A practical strategic sounding board

Starting or growing a business often means making important decisions without access to experienced commercial input.
Friends and family may support you, marketing agencies may focus on marketing, and accountants may focus on the numbers. What is often missing is someone who can step back and look at the whole commercial picture.
That is where I can help.
The objective is not to tell you how to run your business. It is to give you an experienced, independent perspective that helps you make better decisions
